Experimental artist Chris Szajbert (née Seibert) creates electric performances from the depths of our common crazy.

 

The Frances Films were conceived/created during pandemic lockdown. They have become part of a larger work, The Frances Transmedia Project, which includes the pilot episode for The Frances Series, and the upcoming interactive performance The Frances Show, both of which explore/explode the world of The Frances Films.

 

Szajbert's work has garnered recognition and support from the National Endowment for the Arts, Ohio Arts Council, Chesterfield Writer’s Film Project (LA), Center for Performance and Civic Practice, Chicago C.A.A.P., and DirectorsLabChicago. In 2019, Szajbert was named a Gordon Square Artist-in-Residence and tours an intimate solo street performance Love's Lost Raree Box, a project supported by SPACES Satellite Fund and the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. Szajbert is a recipient of the CAC Creative Workforce Fellowship.
